Accounts Assistant

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance function within a busy transport and logistics business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase Ledger processing, supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs
• Sales Ledger, invoicing and customer account management
• Credit Control, chasing overdue payments and resolving queries
• Supporting weekly and monthly payroll using Sage Payroll
• Daily bank reconciliations, expense processing and cash management
• Assisting with month-end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team
• Providing occasional reception and general office support when required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
• Strong Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit Control experience
• Previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts Professional and Sage Payroll
• Experience with bank reconciliations and payroll administration
• Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

Desirable:

• AAT Level 3 or above (or studying towards)
• Month-end accounting experience
• Experience within transport, logistics or warehousing
