Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties within the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders
- Prepare and process sales invoices
- Assist with bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Assist with credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Process expense claims and staff reimbursements
- Help prepare month-end financial reports
- Post journal entries under supervision
- Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with payroll administration (if required)
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- AAT qualification (or studying towards) is desirable but not essential
