Accounts Assistant

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - SWADLINCOTE
Up to £32,000 | Full Time, Permanent | Early Finish Friday

SF Partners are excited to be partnering exclusively with an established business based in Swadlincote who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a varied, hands-on position covering both transactional finance and month-end support. The successful candidate will take ownership of Purchase and Sales Ledger duties whilst also gaining exposure to the wider accounts function.

Salary: Up to £32,000
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-1:30pm
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays, increasing with length of service

The role:

• Manage the Purchase Ledger, ensuring supplier invoices are correctly coded, recorded, matched and authorised
• Process Sales and manual customer invoices
• Credit Control and customer account queries
• Process and record cash receipts and monitor cashflow
• Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Accruals and prepayments
• Support with month-end and annual financial reporting
• Assist with the preparation of accounts and VAT returns
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, including additions, disposals and depreciation
• Support with audit requirements
• Assist with Intrastat reporting
• Deal with supplier queries and reminder letters
• Support the wider Finance team as required

The ideal candidate:

My client is looking for someone with previous experience within a varied finance position who is confident working independently and using their own initiative.

You will ideally have:

• Strong Purchase and Sales Ledger experience
• Previous Credit Control experience
• Experience of reconciliations and month-end processes
• Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• A proactive approach and the ability to manage your own workload
• Strong communication skills
• A willingness to support across the wider finance function
• Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential

You do not need to be experienced across every aspect of the accounts work, as training can be provided in these areas. The key requirement is someone with a solid transactional finance background who is looking for varied and stable role.
