SF Partners is delighted to be working with a key client on the outskirts of Derby to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has already had some exposure to finance and is now looking for a role where they can really build their career. The business is looking for someone ambitious, positive and keen to learn, with the energy to get involved and the drive to progress.

You''ll be joining a supportive finance team where you''ll be given hands-on experience across a range of accounting duties, while also receiving mentoring and development from more experienced colleagues.

The Role

You''ll support the wider finance team with a variety of day-to-day accounting responsibilities, including:

• Processing invoices, payments and receipts
• Supporting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Assisting with bank reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting
• Helping with general finance administration
• Learning finance systems and procedures
• Taking on more responsibility as your experience develops

About You

This role would suit someone who is at the beginning of their finance career but already has some relevant experience, whether through a placement, internship or junior finance role.

You''ll ideally be:

• Ambitious and keen to develop a long-term career in finance
• Positive, energetic and willing to get involved
• Organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicating with colleagues across the business
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Keen to learn and take on more responsibility over time
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
