Accounts Assistant / Senior

Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Waterlooville, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Senior to join their close-knit team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with a solid practice background who enjoys working directly with clients and tackling a broad range of accounting challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of company statutory accounts - ranging from straightforward to more complex cases
• Drafting corporation tax returns
• Occasional preparation of directors'' personal tax returns (not essential)
• Investigating and resolving incomplete accounts
• Working with clients to clarify and correct poor bookkeeping
• Supporting with ad-hoc accounting exercises as they arise

About You:

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
• Comfortable handling a mix of accounts, including more complex and incomplete records
• Confident communicating directly with clients
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
