Assistant Accountant Location: Halifax Salary: £28,000Robert Half Finance and Accounting are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a growing business based in Halifax.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger, bookkeeping, or transactional finance who is looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you''ll play a key role in managing day-to-day financial processes, ensuring accurate records, timely payments, and supporting month-end reporting activities.The RoleAs Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:Processing supplier invoices and maintaining the purchase ledgerRaising customer invoices and allocating incoming paymentsChasing outstanding payments and managing aged debtorsPerforming regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepanciesReconciling supplier statements and resolving queriesAssisting with cashflow monitoring and reportingMaintaining accurate financial records across multiple accountsAssisting with financial reporting and month-end activitiesAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience within a finance position such as Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, Purchase Ledger Clerk, or Sales Ledger ClerkStrong understanding of purchase ledger and/or sales ledger processesExperience undertaking bank reconciliationsGood attention to detail and high levels of accuracyStrong organisational and ..... full job details .....
