We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Bury St Edmunds. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking for an immediate start and the chance to gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities within a fast-paced business environment.

Working closely with the Management Accountant, you will provide hands-on support across day-to-day finance operations while assisting with an ongoing business transformation project, including the implementation of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions
• Invoice processing and account reconciliations
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end accounting activities
• Posting journals and completing account reconciliations
• Supporting credit control and cash management processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
• Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis
• Providing general finance and administrative support to the finance team

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within a finance or accounts environment and be comfortable managing a variety of accounting tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience within a finance, accounts assistant or junior accounting role
• Good understanding of accounting principles and routine finance processes
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel and general IT skills
