Account Assistants (x2)

3-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Pay rate: £15.84 per hour
 
Our client, a reputable organisation in the research sector, is seeking two Account Assistants to support their finance team in managing research project accounts. This is a three-month contract from mid-April to mid-July 2025, offering a great opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing and following up on timesheets to ensure compliance with minimum requirements.
• Processing journals, invoices, and other financial transactions within the system.
• Reviewing and amending system deliverables to enhance claims and invoicing controls.
• Assisting with document retrieval for year-end audit preparation.
• Analysing financial reports to identify and correct discrepancies in project accounts.
• Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc administrative and finance-related tasks.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency in financial systems and strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Confidence in communicating effectively with stakeholders, including senior colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience in research project management within Higher Education is desirable.
• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion systems would be an advantage.
