We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing business looking to appoint a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys transactional finance, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking for a long-term role within a supportive and expanding business.
Introduction
Working closely within the finance team, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices, matching to purchase orders and reconciling supplier statements.
- Preparing supplier payment runs and resolving invoice queries.
- Raising customer invoices and credit notes.
- Allocating customer payments and supporting credit control activities.
- Processing daily bank transactions and bank reconciliation's.
- Assisting with month-end finance processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records, fixed asset registers and employee expenses.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance department.
- Supporting payroll administration when required.
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Bookkeeping role.
- Strong knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Adaptable and happy to support the business as it grows and implements a new ERP systems
- Someone seeking a long-term support role rather than rapid career progression
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using Sage, Xero, SAP or other ERP/accounting systems.
- Manufacturing or distribution sector experience.
- AAT qualification (or currently studying).
- Knowledge of VAT and reconciliation's.
Salary: £30K - £35K (Full time on-site role)
Hours: Days - Monday to Friday (Flex on Start Time)
