Accounts Assistant

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to complement their established team in Castleford. This full-time position has varied duties including sales & purchase ledger, credit control and banking reconciliations. Additional duties such as payroll may be required therefore a diverse range of accounts knowledge is essential. You must also possess professionalism, high levels of accuracy and be a supportive team player.

THE ROLE:
Prepare sales invoices and post receipts, ensuring all transactions are recorded and allocated correctly
Process purchase invoices, including purchase order verification, goods receipting, nominal coding and supplier payments.
Perform regular reconciliation of sales/purchase ledgers and engage with clients/suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
Provide administrative assistance in the preparation of weekly payroll
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing of accounts payable and receivable
Provide general administrative support to the finance team and support month-end and year-end financial processes
Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes where necessary
Maintain compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations
THE CANDIDATE:
A strong foundation in accounting principles and practices and experienced in processing financial transactions using accounting software.
Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions
