ALF Recruit are delighted to be exclusively supporting a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice in their search for a motivated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant.

This is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

You’ll be joining an established team of bookkeepers and accountants, working across a diverse client portfolio. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll build strong technical skills and gain valuable practice experience.

• Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing accounts for a range of clients
• Processing sales and purchase invoices
• Reconciling ledgers and accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting payroll processing when required
• Assisting with month-end and year-end accounts preparation
• Supporting senior accountants with client reporting and queries
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures

About You

• 1–2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Experience within an accountancy practice environment would be advantageous
• Confident using Excel and accounting software
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• A team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
• Comfortable managing deadlines and client expectations
