Accounts Assistant

A well-established firm of Chartered Accountants, with over 10 years'' presence in the local area, is seeking two Accounts Assistants to join their friendly team in Leek. Working closely with experienced accountants and trainees, this is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience and progress with professional qualifications.

• Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements.
• Support with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and personal tax compliance.
• Work under the guidance of senior team members, gaining exposure to client portfolios.
• Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
• Receive mentoring and development opportunities within a supportive team.
• Build strong client-facing skills through direct involvement in client queries and communications.

• Studying towards or looking to start AAT (study support available).
• Ambition to progress towards ACA or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Previous practice experience beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Enthusiasm to develop a career in accounting and taxation.

• Salary: -25,000 - -30,000 (dependent on experience)
• Study support for AAT, ACA or ACCA qualifications
• Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible start and finish times between 8:00am-6:00pm
• Holiday: 20 days + 3 days at Christmas + 8 bank holidays
