Accounts Assistant

An award winning professional services business in Altrincham is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join its growing finance team. This is a key support role focused on maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and supporting internal teams with day to day finance activity. You will work closely with senior finance colleagues and department heads, contributing to efficient financial operations and helping to maintain strong internal controls. Key responsibilitiesPost transactions to ledgers accurately and promptlyProcess payments, transfers and cheque requestsManage internal account transfersCarry out daily bank reconciliationsManage petty cash and monitor balancesPrepare and process weekly payment runsAssist with billing administrationEnsure financial processes follow internal policies and regulatory requirementsFlag discrepancies or irregularities where identifiedMaintain accurate records within the accounts systemRespond to ledger queries and support adjustmentsAssist with month end routines and VAT returnsWhat we are looking forPrevious experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similarBackground in professional services or a regulated environment preferredStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyComfortable working with financial systems and online bankingOrganised with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills and a collaborative approachBenefitsThe benefits package is very competitive ..... full job details .....
