Accounts Assistant

I’m currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of a well-established professional services business based in Sunderland.

The Role
Working closely with the finance team, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the accounts function, including:

• Processing supplier invoices, payments and expenses.
• Managing customer receipts and assisting with credit control.
• Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records.
• Supporting billing queries and resolving discrepancies.
• Assisting with VAT coding and financial reporting.
• Maintaining financial records and supporting compliance procedures.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, numerate and has excellent attention to detail.
You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in an accounts or finance administration role (desirable).
• Good Microsoft Excel and general accounting software skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in finance.

AAT qualification or studying towards AAT would be beneficial, but practical experience and a willingness to learn are equally welcomed.
