Our client, a well-established accounting practice providing services across bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, and year-end compliance, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support a growing SME client portfolio. Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role offers hands-on experience across core accounting functions within a collaborative and professional environment. Accounts Assistant Job Overview Prepare annual accounts to draft level for managerial reviewComplete self-assessment tax returns and assist with corporation tax computationsSubmit VAT returns and support day-to-day bookkeeping across various cloud platformsLiaise with HMRC on behalf of clients to manage correspondence and resolve queriesConduct variance analysis and support management reportingMaintain financial records with accuracy and attention to detailSchedule client meetings and manage departmental deadlinesEnter and reconcile financial data using accounting softwareRespond professionally to client queries via phone and emailSupport internal team targets and contribute to shared goalsPromote the company''s values and uphold high standards of conduct and serviceShare knowledge to support junior team members where appropriateActively pursue personal development to enhance technical and professional skills Accounts Assistant Job Requirements Studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent (AAT qualified/ Part qualified desirable)Prior experience in bookkeeping, self-assessment, VAT, and year-end accountingStrong ..... full job details .....
