Accounts Assistant

Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established organisation in South Derbyshire to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to gain broad, hands-on finance experience in a busy environment.

The Role Will Involve:

• Daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Monitoring and reporting on cashflow and daily cash position
• Processing and allocating incoming receipts
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting cashflow forecasting
• Assisting with month-end and balance sheet reconciliations
• Handling billing and payment queries
• Supporting wider finance tasks including AP
• Contributing to process improvements

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a finance or accounts role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
• A team player with a desire to learn and develop
• Confident communicator
• Good Excel skills (pivot tables and formulas beneficial)

Benefits & Hours:

• Fully office-based (South Derbyshire)
• Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm (flexible start times/lunch)
• Salary: up to -29,000
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
