Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: Hadlow Reports to: Accounts Manager / Finance Director Job Type: Temporary Cover (2-3 Months) Job Overview Our client are a growing groundworks and civil engineering company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support their finance function. The role will involve day-to-day accounting tasks, with a strong focus on purchase ledger and supporting monthly accounts. Experience within construction or groundworks is advantageous but not essential. Key Responsibilities Purchase Ledger Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes Dealing with supplier queries and statement reconciliations Preparing supplier payment runs General Accounts Duties Assisting with bank reconciliations Posting journals and maintaining accurate ledgers Supporting monthly management accounts Assisting with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns Maintaining organised financial records and filing systems Administrative and Support Tasks Liaising with site managers and subcontractors regarding invoices Assisting with payroll data preparation (hours, timesheets, etc.) Providing general support to the accounts team as required Skills and Experience Required Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar) Good working ..... full job details .....
