Accounting Technician

Your new company Hays are recruiting on behalf of a central government organisation based in Belfast. This is an opportunity to join a busy finance team supporting the delivery of key public sector programmes, offering valuable exposure to government finance, financial reporting and stakeholder management within a large and complex organisation.Your new role As an Accounting Technician, you will support the finance team with a range of financial reporting and accounting activities, including:Raising sales invoices and purchase orders.Preparing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.Completing bank reconciliations and processing banking transactions.Assisting with lease accounting and fixed asset reconciliations.Supporting the preparation of monthly, interim and year-end accounts.Assisting with audit preparation and providing supporting documentation.Conducting financial analysis and investigating variances.Supporting grant accounting and associated accrual processes.Responding to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.What you''ll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you will have:A recognised Accounting Technician qualification.A minimum of 2 years'' post-qualification finance experience gained within the last 5 years.Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting and financial management.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and complex spreadsheets.Experience ..... full job details .....
