Job Title: AccountantLocation: Maidstone, Kent (Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days home)Salary: £40,000OverviewWe are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Maidstone who are looking to recruit an experienced Accountant to support a varied portfolio of industry clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded finance professional who enjoys working across both bookkeeping and payroll, with strong client interaction.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industriesPreparing management accounts and assisting with year-end processesHandling day-to-day bookkeeping including reconciliations, journals, and VAT returnsProcessing and overseeing client payrolls, including RTI submissions and pension contributionsMaintaining accurate financial records and ensuring HMRC complianceLiaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial insightSupporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting and administrative dutiesRequirementsProven experience within an accountancy practice environmentStrong bookkeeping and payroll experience (end-to-end)Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similarSolid understanding of VAT and payroll legislationExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong communication skills and ability to build client relationshipsAAT qualified or ACCA/ACA part-qualified (or equivalent ..... full job details .....
