Accountant

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice based in York, providing accounting and taxation services to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Accountant to join their friendly and flexible team. The practice offers an excellent work-life balance with predominantly remote working and a supportive working environment.Accountant Position OverviewPreparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.Preparing and submitting VAT returns.Assisting with bookkeeping where required.Processing payroll for clients (desirable).Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries.Using cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.Building and maintaining strong client relationships.Accountant Position RequirementsPrevious experience working within an Accountancy Practice.Experience preparing statutory accounts.Experience completing VAT returns.Payroll experience would be advantageous but is not essential.Working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.Strong communication and organisational skills.Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.Accountancy qualifications are not essential; qualified by experience candidates are encouraged to apply.Accountant Position RemunerationSalary of £30,000.Hybrid working with up to four days working from home.Fully remote working may be ..... full job details .....
