Account Manager
About you
If you’re an Account Manager who likes actually owning the work rather than just passing briefs around, this could be a good one.
You’ll be joining a specialist communications business in Stockport, looking after established Local Government customers and managing projects from the initial brief right through to delivery.
You’re organised, good with customers and comfortable when there are a lot of moving parts.
This isn’t a sales role. It’s about looking after existing relationships properly, understanding exactly what the customer needs and making sure the work gets delivered accurately and on time.
Some of the work is genuinely time-critical, so you’ll need to be somebody who stays on top of the detail when things get busy.
Your experienceIdeally, you’ll come from print, direct mail, secure communications or another production-led environment where you’ve managed customer projects through to delivery.
Electoral or Local Government experience would obviously be brilliant, but it doesn’t have to be the only route in.
You’ll be comfortable taking briefs, working with production teams and suppliers, managing multiple live jobs and using an MIS/WIP system to keep everything under control.
You’ll also need enough commercial awareness to understand quotes, supplier costs, margins and invoicing.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of Local Government customers, including electoral, canvass and other communication projects.
That means taking accurate briefs, coordinating internal teams and external suppliers, keeping customers updated and making sure deadlines don’t slip.
You’ll also be involved in customer reviews, post-project wash-ups and contract renewal activity, alongside keeping an eye on pricing, margins and supplier quotes.
It’s a proper end-to-end Account Manager role rather than simply being the middle person between the customer and production.
About the businessYou’ll be joining an established Stockport business with a long history in print, communications and public-sector work.
They’ve been through a period of investment and change, bringing different parts of the business together and broadening what they can offer customers.
The role is based from their Stockport office five days a week, working closely with the wider client services and delivery teams.
Next stepsYou don’t need to have worked on elections before for us to have a conversation.
If you’ve managed customers and deadline-driven projects within print, direct mail or a similar environment, drop us a message and we can talk you through it properly.
