Academic Mentor - ScienceLocation: Newham, East LondonStart Date: Week commencing 28th September 2026Contract: Until August 2027Working Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to FridayContract Type: Full-time, term time onlySalary: Negotiable!We are currently recruiting for an Academic Mentor in Science to join a secondary school in Newham.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong Science background who is passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their academic potential.The RoleAs a Science Academic Mentor, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, helping students improve their scientific knowledge, confidence and exam skills.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small-group Science supportSupport students with GCSE ScienceSupport across Biology, Chemistry and PhysicsIdentify learning gaps and areas for developmentDeliver targeted academic interventionsSupport exam preparation, revision and past-paper practiceMonitor and record student progressDevelop students'' confidence and independent learning skillsWork closely with Science teachers and pastoral staffAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have:A strong academic background in ScienceGood knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and PhysicsExperience supporting or tutoring secondary school studentsKnowledge of GCSE ScienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to build positive relationships with studentsA passion for helping young people make ..... full job details .....
