Band 8a Capital Accountant NHS Trust Permanent Band 8a An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capital Accountant to join a busy and forward-thinking NHS finance team. This is a key role within the organisation, supporting the delivery of a substantial capital programme while ensuring the highest standards of financial control, reporting and compliance. Working closely with senior finance colleagues, operational managers and capital project teams, you will take ownership of the Trust''s capital accounting processes and provide expert financial support across a diverse portfolio of capital investment projects. Key Responsibilities Fixed Asset Register Management Maintain the Trust''s Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance. Process capital additions, disposals, transfers and revaluations. Ensure assets are appropriately classified and accounted for in line with relevant accounting standards. Capital Reporting and Month-End Lead monthly capital accounting and reporting activities. Produce capital expenditure reports, forecasts and variance analysis. Support budget holders and project managers with financial information and advice relating to capital schemes. Year-End Capital Accounting Deliver year-end capital accounting requirements and statutory disclosures. Prepare working papers and supporting analysis for annual accounts.
