5 Axis CNC Machinist

Location: Stockport

Salary: Up to £19.27 per hour + Premium Overtime

Hours: 35 hours per week

 

THE ROLE

We''re working with a well-established subcontract precision engineering business in Stockport who are looking to strengthen their machining team with an experienced 5 Axis CNC Machinist.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy, well-invested shopfloor environment producing high-quality components for a range of industries. The company has a strong order book and offers consistent overtime for those looking to maximise earnings.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Set, operate and ideally program 5 axis CNC milling machines

- Work from detailed engineering drawings to tight tolerances

- Machine complex, high-precision components in a subcontract environment

- Carry out in-process inspection to ensure quality standards are met

- Maintain machines and ensure efficient production output

- Support continuous improvement and shopfloor best practice

 

WHAT WE''RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven experience operating 5 axis CNC milling machines

- Strong experience with Heidenhain controls (essential)

- Background in subcontract / precision engineering environments

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards

- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

 

WHAT''S ON OFFER

- Up to £19.27 per hour (depending on experience)

- 35 hour basic working week

- Overtime available at premium rates
