3rd Line Support Engineer - 12-Month Contract - Fareham My longstanding customer is seeking an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join an established IT team, providing BAU support across a secure and highly available infrastructure environment. The role is heavily focused on 3rd line troubleshooting, infrastructure administration and operational support, covering Windows Server, VMware, networking and hybrid infrastructure. Essential Technical Experience from the 3 Line Support Engineer: Strong Windows Server experience. Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP. VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter. Networking knowledge - TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs and firewalls. Experience supporting on-premises and virtualised infrastructure. Infrastructure monitoring, backup and disaster recovery. Strong 3rd line troubleshooting and root cause analysis. PowerShell or scripting/automation experience. Azure or AWS experience desirable, not essential. Key Responsibilities of the 3 Line Support Engineer: Provide 3rd line BAU support and resolve complex infrastructure incidents. Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware environments. Troubleshoot server, virtualisation and network issues. Support LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs and firewalls. Monitor infrastructure and support backup, patching and disaster recovery. Perform root cause analysis and implement technical fixes.
