360 Excavator Operator with NG Persons

Job Title: 360 Excavator Operative with National Grid Persons
Location: Cornwall
Project: Substation Civils
Contract Type: Contract - CIS
Contract Length: 6 months
Hours: 46.5 per week

Our client is looking for an experienced 360 Excavator Operative to support to the groundworks team ensuring safe excavation and compliance with National Grid safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a 360- excavator safely and efficiently on or adjacent to live National Grid infrastructure
• Excavate trenches, create bell holes, backfill, and assist with general groundwork tasks
• Utilize HSG47-approved practices to work around high-voltage buried services and HV cable routes
• Conduct routine machine inspections, log defects, maintain fuel/grease records
• Cooperate with site supervisors, groundworkers and safety teams
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines on site

Essential Qualifications & Certifications:

• Valid CPCS or NPORS 360- Excavator Operator Card (preferably Blue with CSCS)
• National Grid Persons
• Proven experience operating 360 excavators on utility or civils projects (preferably within National Grid works)
• Ability to read and act on utility plans, site layout drawings, and marker tapes
• Full UK driving licence
