Driller Operative-
A Driller Operative working for a busy manufacturer is responsible for drilling holes into kitchen cabinet panels, doors and other furniture components, ready for assembly and fitting.
This is usually a woodworking / furniture production role, rather than an engineering or metal-drilling position.
Typical Duties
Operating drilling machines to produce holes in kitchen cabinet panels and doors.
Drilling holes for hinges, handles, dowels, screws and fittings.
Working with MDF, chipboard, melamine and other furniture boards.
Following measurements, cutting lists and production instructions.
Setting up and adjusting drilling machinery where trained.
Loading and unloading panels onto machines.
Checking hole positions, measurements and finished quality.
Identifying damaged panels or manufacturing defects.
Stacking and preparing completed panels for the next stage of production.
Keeping the work area clean and following Health & Safety procedures.
Meeting daily production targets.
