12m FTC Assistant Accountant

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business based in Rotherham, a company we have worked closely with over a number of years and built a strong relationship with.They are now looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract to support the finance team during a maternity leave.This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment and wants to gain broad exposure across month-end accounting, reporting, and transactional finance.The RoleThis position will support the day-to-day running of the finance function while assisting with monthly reporting and financial controls.Key responsibilities will include:Assisting with month-end close activities,Preparing journals, accruals, and prepayments,Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations,Maintaining fixed asset registers,VAT returns and general compliance support,Liaising with internal departments across operations and engineering.About YouExperienced within a similar role, ideally in manufacturing or engineering,Confident using Excel and accounting systems,Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills,Able to work independently and manage deadlines effectively,A proactive team player with a positive attitude.What''s on Offer12-month fixed term contract with a stable engineering business,Competitive salary and benefits package,Opportunity to gain valuable ..... full job details .....
