Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 (KS2) pupil at a supportive and inclusive primary school in Liverpool. This full-time role is to start immediately and is ideal for someone with experience working with children who have additional needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored, consistent support that helps the pupil achieve both academic and personal development goals.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs.

Adapt classroom materials and activities to support individual learning plans.

Encourage the pupils engagement, focus, and independence throughout the school day.

Support emotional regulation and behaviour management using appropriate strategies.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents/carers to monitor progress.

Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

Previous experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting, ideally at KS2 level.

Background in working with children with SEND is highly desirable.

A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred.

Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
