1:1 Teaching Assistant

September 2026 -  1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant required to work with a non-verbal KS2 student in a Hornchurch School. 

The successful candidate will provide structured learning while maintaining routine and boundaries throughout the school day, helping the student access their learning.

Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (Term time only)

Role responsibilities & Qualification:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 student who is non-verbal.
• Support the students learning, communication, and social development.
• Establish and maintain clear routines and boundaries to help the student feel secure and engaged.
• Experience using PECS, Makaton or Communication Boards/books.
• Experience working with SEN children that have communication needs.
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with the student and staff.
• Happy to assist with personal care if needed.
• L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, SEND, Care or Psychology qualification.
