1:1 Teaching Assistant

Academics are currently looking for 1:1 Teaching Assistants for temporary full-time short and long-term supporting roles within our client primary schools, SEN schools, and SEN provisions. Working across Stoke-on-Trent can be diversified, meaning that we do have different requirements to suit.We are proud to say that here at Academics we have had a strong record of placing many of our 1:1 Teaching Assistants into permanent work following a successful period of long-term supply within our schools and provisions.Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant: Providing high quality 1:1 support/interventions for learners who have with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.Support learners to develop essential skills, build social connections, and engage actively in learning.Implement tailored strategies to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies when needed.Assisting the class teacher in adapting classroom activities and resources for the learner.Managing behaviour and engaging learners with their own learning.The ability to create and foster an inclusive and safe learning environment for all of the learners within your class and the wider school community.For this role, candidates who apply must have:Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.Calm, resilient, ..... full job details .....
