I am looking for experienced teaching assistants to work in early years, key stage one and two. Previous experience of working with children is essential, preferably with those who have special educational needs relating to speech and language communication needs or experience in Early Years or key stage 1 and 2 provisions. The schools will be in Portsmouth The successful candidate will be expected to : Be aware of the needs of pupils with speech and language communication needs Maintain a high level of support for the child''s needs. Be willing to learn how to adapt and modify learning materials Have experience of alternative methods of communication; ie Makaton or PECS. Provide a high level of support to enable the child to have access to the planned Early Years curriculum. Help the child to develop social skills and appropriate interactions with his peers.
