Primary schools in Newport are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to pupils with additional needs. Key duties:
- Providing 1:1 support during lessons and daily activities
- Adapting tasks to meet pupils'' needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Encouraging independence and building self-esteem
- Promoting a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
The ideal candidate:
- Calm, patient, and reliable
- Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with the ALNCO and the class teacher
- A clear communicator and team player
- Previous experience in education, care, or support work is beneficial but not essential
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
