1:1 SEND and Autism Teaching AssistantPrimary School Full-Time Long-Term OpportunitiesAspire People are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with additional needs.This role would suit someone who has previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, autism, communication difficulties or behavioural needs and is confident providing consistent, individualised support.The Role: Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND Supporting access to classroom learning and the wider curriculum Using appropriate strategies to support communication and engagement Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour Helping the pupil develop independence and confidence Supporting transitions throughout the school day Adapting activities to meet individual needs Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO Monitoring progress and feeding back to school staff Supporting inclusion within the wider classroom environmentThe Ideal Candidate: Previous UK school-based experience supporting pupils with SEND Experience supporting children with autism is highly desirable Experience with communication difficulties or non-verbal pupils would be advantageous Calm, patient and consistent approach Confident managing challenging or distressed behaviour Strong understanding of safeguarding Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Able to commit to a long-term placementWhy Work with Aspire People?
