1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

A primary school in Feltham is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil on a full-time, long-term basis, starting as soon as possible.

The role involves supporting a pupil with additional learning needs throughout the school day, helping them access the curriculum, engage in classroom activities and develop greater confidence and independence.

The school is looking for someone who is patient, consistent and confident in building positive relationships with children who need additional support. You''ll work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to ensure the pupil receives the support they need to make progress.

The Role

You''ll be working alongside the class teacher to provide individualised support for a Year 4 pupil, helping them access learning and participate in school life.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Supporting the pupil with classroom learning, activities and tasks.
• Adapting activities and explaining instructions to help the pupil access the curriculum.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Supporting emotional regulation and helping the pupil manage challenges throughout the day.
• Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to follow individual support strategies.
• Monitoring progress and sharing observations with relevant staff.
