1:1 SEN Teacher Assistant

Primary in Hemel Hempstead | Long-term, Part-Time | Starting Date: 8th September

Pay: £85-£110

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support to a pupil with additional needs from September 2025.

Job Description:

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals
• Implement tailored strategies and intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
• Foster a positive, nurturing relationship that promotes confidence, independence, and emotional regulation
• Support the pupil’s social interaction, communication, and behavioural development
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 setting (desirable but not essential)
• Be a calm, empathetic, and resilient practitioner with a strong understanding of inclusive practice
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, child development, and positive behaviour support
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Be enthusiastic about professional development and reflective practice
• Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check
