1:1 Learning Support Assistant (ASD Support - Year 2)
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a committed team at this Aylesbury based primary school, providing tailored support for a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a bright and enthusiastic child, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social and communication skills, and thrive in the school environment. The role is for the full academic year, and will involve working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised interventions and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support during lessons and break times
- Implement individualised learning and behaviour strategies
- Support with communication, emotional regulation, and transitions
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with ASD or other SEND needs
- A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
