The pupil has a diagnosis of ASD and responds well to visual prompts, clear routines, processing time, sensory breaks and a calm, consistent approach. The successful 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to access learning and feel settled within the classroom environment. The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role Experience supporting pupils with ASD Experience supporting emotional regulation is required Experience using visual timetables, visual supports and social stories Knowledge of sensory regulation approaches Experience with communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton would be beneficial Calm, patient and consistent approach Able to provide processing ...
