Job Title: 1 to 1 Teaching AssistantLocation: Taunton, SomersetJob Type: Full-Time Long Term (5 days a week)Contract: Full-Time until Christmas 1 to 1 Teaching AssistantSupply Staff Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a primary school in Taunton, Somerset on a full-time basis until Christmas.The pupil has a diagnosis of ASD and responds well to visual prompts, clear routines, processing time, sensory breaks and a calm, consistent approach. The successful 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to access learning and feel settled within the classroom environment.The Ideal Candidate:Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support roleExperience supporting pupils with ASDExperience supporting emotional regulation is requiredExperience using visual timetables, visual supports and social storiesKnowledge of sensory regulation approachesExperience with communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton would be beneficialCalm, patient and consistent approachAble to provide processing time and use clear, structured routinesConfident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basisThe Role:This 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant position would suit someone with strong experience supporting pupils with additional needs who can provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day.
