1-1 Teaching Assistant

Area: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Rate: -90 - -120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the School

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive school in Wakefield that is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential. The school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support to a pupil with additional learning and/or behavioural needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs throughout the school day.
• Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
• Support the pupil''s emotional wellbeing, social development, and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure the pupil receives the appropriate support.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the individual''s needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom environment.

What We''re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• Experience working with children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs, is desirable.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve success.
• Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

To Be Eligible, You Must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
