1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD and Behaviour Support) Location: Knottingley, Wakefield Position: Full-Time, Term Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day. Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing. Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour support plans. Use positive behaviour support strategies to help the pupil regulate emotions and manage challenging behaviour safely. Encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and confidence. Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure a consistent approach. Record observations, monitor progress, and contribute to review meetings where appropriate. Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
