Location: Pevensey, East Sussex
Salary: andpound;120 andndash; andpound;250 per day
Contract Type: Full time, Long-term
Start Date: Immediate / February Half Term

The Food Technology department plays a vital role in equipping students with practical, transferable skills while fostering a deeper understanding of food, nutrition, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Create a varied and challenging curriculum that encourages students to develop both practical cooking skills and a deep understanding of food science, nutrition, and sustainability.
  • Assess studentsandrsquo; progress regularly, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their potential.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students feel supported and encouraged in their practical tasks.
  • Manage classroom resources, including food ingredients and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and safely stored.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as food clubs, school events, or competitions, to promote food technology and encourage students to engage with the subject beyond the classroom.

Qualifications andamp; Experience:


  • Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting is desirable
  • Strong subject knowledge in food preparation, nutrition, and health.
  • A passion for food education and the ability to inspire students to develop practical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage resources and equipment effectively.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to work with students of all abilities.
