About the Role

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant secondary school in Vale of Glamorgan. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and looking to make a positive impact on studentsandrsquo; learning journeys. As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their learning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, following pre-prepared lesson plans.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment, promoting respect and engagement.
• Address any questions or concerns students may have about their work, providing guidance where necessary.
• Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with the schoolandrsquo;s policies, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all learners.
• Support teaching staff by assisting with administrative tasks and contributing to school activities as needed.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will need excellent communication and organisational skills, alongside the ability to confidently manage groups of students. A proactive and professional attitude is essential, with a genuine interest in supporting student development.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a calm demeanour under pressure.
• A solid understanding of classroom management techniques.
• A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
