Job Description: Potter Johnson Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school in NW9, Kingsbury for a Teaching Assistant with a background in Youth Work to support students who have been excluded from mainstream education. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support students with challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to their needs. Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them engage with classroom activities. Assist teachers in delivering lessons and implementing behaviour management strategies for students who have been excluded from mainstream schools. Build positive relationships with students to encourage their personal development, resilience, and educational engagement. Implement de-escalation techniques and manage challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience as a Youth Worker or Teaching Assistant in an educational or youth setting, particularly with students who have been excluded from mainstream schools due to behavioural issues. Enhanced DBS Check: A current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service is mandatory. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students facing behavioural challenges.
