Mathematics Teacher

Location: Pevensey, East Sussex
Salary: andpound;150 - andpound;250 (D.O.E)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

The Math Department is aiming to deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to develop a passion for mathematics. They are seeking a Mathematics Teacher to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging mathematics lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
  • Tailor lessons to meet the diverse needs of students and support their progress at their own pace.
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes active participation and a growth mindset.
  • Set and grade homework according to school guidelines, providing helpful feedback.
  • Maintain effective classroom management, ensuring a disciplined yet supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the departmentandrsquo;s schemes of work and teaching resources.
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams, offering focused support and revision strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and school to maintain high teaching standards.
  • Track and report student progress to parents and senior leadership.
  • Attend staff meetings, departmental meetings, and school events as required.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and school initiatives.

Qualifications andamp; Experience:


  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching mathematics.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom to enhance learning (e.g., interactive whiteboards, educational software).
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to continuously improve teaching practices.
