My client in the M24 area of Manchester are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in product design and development, particularly within the sheet metal or electrical industry. You will play a crucial role in designing and supporting new and existing products throughout the entire product lifecycle. Mechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities: Design and continuously improve products to meet specified requirements. Investigate new technologies, construction methods, and processes across our product portfolio. Convert existing 2D CAD data into 3D Solid Edge format. Create accurate component and assembly drawings using CAD systems. Generate Bills of Materials (BoMs) for product release into production. Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating Macros and using complex formulas. Identify opportunities for value engineering within active projects. Collaborate with external manufacturers and suppliers to establish and agree on specifications. Foster positive working relationships with colleagues nationally and internationally. Identify areas for improvement within existing manufacturing processes. Construct and evaluate prototypes for performance.
