Join our Global Sanctions team in our Financial Crime Risk Division play a key role in managing and maintaining Macquarie’s global sanctions framework and provide day to day advisory on complex sanctions escalations from institutional and retail business, operations groups, and financial crime risk colleagues. This includes providing guidance on new and emerging regulatory developments.

This role can be based in either Sydney or Singapore.

As a Senior Manager, you will take lead in providing sanctions advice in relation to clients and transactions across the APAC region covering all operating and support groups, including providing guidance to stakeholders on the development and implementation of any necessary controls in response to new regulatory developments.

You will support the development, maintenance and oversight of sanctions policies, standards, procedures and other key documents, including developing and delivering targeted sanctions training and internal and external reporting, as well as contributing to change projects aimed at the development and enhancement of Macquarie’s sanctions control framework. In addition, you will support Macquarie’s engagement with key sanctions regulators in region.

The role may may offer future opportunities to be responsible for the members of the global sanctions team located within the APAC region.

What you offer

  • Demonstrable experience in a second line sanctions compliance or advisory role in an equivalent financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of global sanctions requirements, with APAC experience being highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of investment banking products and services, as well as knowledge of trade sanctions and export controls.
  • Experience in managing people and teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across multiple divisions and regions.
