Senior Electrical & Software Design Engineer required for a permanent, full time role in Hengrove, Bristol – BS14. Our client is a company specialising in intelligent and sustainable packaging technologies for pharmaceutical and food industries.
- £51,000 - £57,000 per annum, depending on experience

- Direct design work on customer projects, contributing creative ideas.
- Design Electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
- Write and develop PLC code for machine control using Rockwell and Beckhoff.
- Write and develop Servo Motion code for machine control using Rockwell and Beckhoff.
- Write and develop HMI code for operator interfaces using Rockwell and Zenon.
- Write and develop Safety controller code for the machine safety using Pilz and Phoenix.
- Produce Bill of Materials using Agile product lifecycle management software.
- Attending specification meetings with customers, providing authoritative contribution regarding the Electrical design aspects of the project.
- Take the lead on projects when multiple engineers are working together.
- Be aware of cost targets in design, purchase, and assembly.
- Document and archiving all project related material.
- Provide assistance to assembly personnel during the build phase of a project.
- Ensure that the electrical aspects of the machinery are in compliance with the requirements of the European Community (CE), National Electric Code, Canadian Standards Association Codes, and Underwriters Laboratory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 10 years extensive Electrical and Software Engineering experience for manufacture and assembly.
- Demonstrable experience of programming using Rockwell, Beckhoff and Zenon, AutoCAD electrical or EPLAN.
- Trained in using performance safety levels and the use of Sistema, and understanding of Servo motion technology.
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and testing requirements, specifically European Community (CE), National Electric Code (NFPA 70 and NFPA 79), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and Underwriters Laboratory (UL).
- Valid driving license and passport, willing to travel domestically and internationally
