Senior/Principal HV Cable Design Engineer (Underground)Location: LondonSalary: £50-65k (Dependant on experience) + benefits Job type: Permanent Our client is seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer to join their growing HV Cable Design team. This role is ideal for technically strong engineers looking to work on complex, large-scale projects in the transmission and distribution sector, including work for SSEN and National Grid. Key Responsibilities: Design and specify cable sizes, routes, and types, including cable rating and induced voltage calculations. Manage the production of design drawings, reports, and material specifications. Work with CAD technicians to create detailed layouts and trench cross sections. Liaise with project managers to ensure designs meet project timelines and budgets. Mentor junior staff and coordinate with other disciplines as needed. Involvement in technical working groups to solve industry challenges. Requirements: Engineer Level: Experience with HV (33kV+) cable design and report writing. Senior/Principal Level: Proficient in Cymcap software and independently managing HV cable design. Experience in checking and coordinating junior engineers work.
