About this Position: The Senior Mechanical Engineer role is a contract position within the Engineering department at the clients Northamptonshire office. The successful candidate will deliver engineering solutions across various projects, primarily focusing on mechanical engineering, with considerations for hydraulic and electrical systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role involves design creation, project management, and providing technical support throughout the manufacturing process. Job Responsibilities: Produce and take ownership of new designs using 3D CAD, including creating detailed drawings to BS8888 standards. Design fabricated structural components for various applications, providing supporting calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) reports. Manage assigned projects, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met. Present and communicate engineering outputs to internal and external stakeholders through design reviews and presentations. Provide design support throughout the product lifecycle, including manufacture, assembly, and testing. Manage product manufacturing documentation, including CAD files, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Provide technical support across all areas of the business. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects successfully. Identify and communicate with suppliers, and visit as necessary to support project delivery.
